chapter 4

To anonymous,

A few days ago my friend shared a link on Facebook. It was a video, “your first love” something of that. Many had liked it so I thought ‘What’s the harm in checking it out’…..all right I’m getting into the details….sorry, in short when I viewed that video, it was awesome.

It was not any guy who gave you chocolates or a classmate. The first love of our life is our parents. I believe in this statement. They sacrificed their rest and sleep when we were an infant, so that we could have a peaceful nap. They sacrificed their desires and needs just to provide us with the best, possible schooling. They sacrificed their prestige to get us a job. They sacrificed everything for us.

Teen girls get impressed by a guy who sacrificed an action movie for a romantic comedy. But they don’t even turn back to say thank you to their mom and dads who dropped them to the theater. Most of the teens find their friends more important than their own family. We can consider hormonal changes for this mentality but what about the working guy who got a job due to his dad’s influence, but later how does he pay for it? , by throwing his parents in an old age home. Many teens find their parents boring and old-fashioned. They don’t see the care and concern due to which their cell was confiscated.

I’m fourteen. Not allowed to party, no cell phones, no movies or get together. Although I feel a bit angry but that anger dissolves when I try to look beyond the horizon. I really love it now because I understand what all the worry is all about. It’s quite silly but I admit that I got sentimental while watching that video, as I was reminded about my dad who goes about 550 km away from our city and my mom who does all the housework and goes for work daily even if she is in bad health just to fulfill my wishes, give me a better life and the best schooling.

Our parents try to give us everything which they did not have and they always wish us to reach those heights which they could not. They sacrifice their whole life just to make us a good person. Although if they kind of frustrate you, which every teen gets easily, just smile and remember life is a long journey and they are the ones who’ll be by our side throughout the journey, checking the path, picking us up if we fall and leave without giving credit to themselves.

They are the first love of our life. They are our asset. So a quote follows.

““In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony.”

Mom is calling. I got to go. I will write you soon.

Yours lovingly,

G$2.
